From the beginner to the expert soap maker, having the right tools play an integral part of quality the finished soap product.

The type of tools needed will vary depending on the type of soap manufacturing process used.

Here is a list of important tools of trade. Please select which are applicable to the manufacturing of soap is used.

* Long-sleeved shirt or lab coat to protect your arms from possible splashes.

* Paper towels or other pieces of cloth to help clean up spills immediately.
Rubber gloves to protect your hands from the caustic solution and the mixture

* Face masks preferably with a filter to prevent inhalation of caustic smoke your lye solution.
* Pants long, some kind of footwear to protect your feet from spills.
* At least two of sturdy plastic, stainless steel or glass. One for the measurement of sodium (Sodium hydroxide) crystals, one for measuring your liquid.
* A minimum of 2 tablespoons resistant plastic or stainless steel to remove the solution of lye and oils.
* Crystal candy or candle / soap making thermometers.
* Plastic containers or large stainless steel pans / Pots for heating and mixing the soap mixture in.
